This intergenerational contemporary dance work contemplates the brutality of climate change and how the West Coast is under siege of fire, ash, and the burning land all living things share. We think through violent colonizer tactics of scorching the earth and salting the fields, making once flourishing grounds into uninhabitable wastelands. The movement language taps into our rage, the dry taste in our mouths after inhaling smoke, the desire to take care of our collective by returning to Indigenous stewardship.
